Trail Notes

While 2009 has been a difficult year for all organizations, our Board of Directors has been able to make swift decisions and take decisive actions designed to insure the continued viability of the Circuit Rider Boooks ministry. Yes, we've had to limit driving our truck. Yes, we've had to give up our office in Portland. Yes, we've had to restrict purchasing and expenses. BUT, we are on a solid financial footing to return to full service during 2010.

In addition, we've begun this new website and are soon to add a monthly e-newsletter. We're renegotiating the covenants with our denominational partners, and have developed a funding plan that does not depend on obtaining large single grants to maintain our financial viability. You can help ensure this by becoming a Sustaining Partner with your annual donation of $25 or more.

The old 'many hands make light work' idea is true! Public Broadcasting learned this long ago, and we have now seen the light also. Circuit Rider Books has always been a grass-roots effort, and that is where our support must come from. We who want great reading in the mainline protestant tradition must ensure that we have it available in the West. No one else will solve this lack for us.

Welcome to our new website!

Welcome to the beginnings of our new website! We hope you will enjoy browsing and ordering the new title listings from many mainline protestant Christian publishers, as well as keeping up with the news of Circuit Rider Books' activities.

You will get personalized service from us and our best efforts to provide you with exceptional resources in a timely manner at the best prices we can offer.

With the advent of this updated website, we especially hope we will serve better the far-flung churches of rural areas and their pastors and members. We also recognize that for many of our regular and new customers, the ease of learning about new titles through this online resource will be a blessing, and we are grateful that we can provide this service for each of you.

Don't miss seeing our mobile book service in person at an event or meeting in your area! Hands-on book browsing is always a pleasure, and you are welcome to drop by the bookstore whenever we are near you, even if you are not attending the event we are serving. We hope to see you in 2010 … somewhere on our circuit!
